BDSM Community Really Into the Whole Mask Thing

THE PLAYROOM- According to a statement from Orange County public health officials, members of the Chapel Hill BDSM community are among the most likely to abide by County mask-wearing recommendations. “They just really, really seem to buy in, and we believe others should look to them as an example,” said Health Director Nancy Hughes.

“Research suggests that both matte leather and skintight rubber are nearly 100% effective at stopping the escape of viral particles,” continued Hughes, “and the numbers get even better if a full gimp mask is being worn as the eyes and face are fully protected. We recommend that young people try to invest in these face coverings especially as traditional PPE supplies run low.”

County officials added that if community members choose to get into BDSM as a public health measure they should, “be sure to keep all zippers, gags and locks fastened tight before leaving your play dungeon and going into public.” Doctor Grace Parsons, who is consulting for the county, also recommends that “any submissives you wish to bring out into the world be kept on a short leash of no more than 6 feet in length.”

Area dominatrix Lady Ellen Killpower responded to a request for comment saying, “there’s a pandemic?”
